On April 2, 2021 year, the M.O.Auezov Pedagogical College hosted a city seminar on the topic of volunteer activities within the framework of the project “Students-to School”, organized by the head and representatives of the Department of Education of Semey, N.A.Fesenko, about the volunteer work of students of the group studying in the specialty “Primary Education”. The seminar was attended by Kantaeva Aizada Zhumakanovna, a methodologist for monitoring the quality of education and the content of training of the UC of the regional center “SHYGYS” of the NGO East Kazakhstan Region, the administration of secondary schools in the city of Families, primary school teachers, college administrators and methodologists, and student volunteers. First, Natalia Anatolyevna in her speech thanked the administration of the college, the students and gave the floor to the volunteer students that for two years fruitful volunteer work has been carried out with the students of the city’s schools.
Students of the 3-4 college Madeniyatova Ayazhan, Zholamanov Nursultan, Tusupbaeva Erke, Aitmukash Nazym performed. In his speeches, he noted that since October 2019, on the basis of a tripartite memorandum agreed with the Department of Education of the city of Semey in the East Kazakhstan region and the city’s schools, volunteer work has been carried out to improve the professional competence of students studying in the specialty “Primary Education”, and stressed that volunteer work was qualitatively continued during distance learning and during the pandemic.
In order to provide additional assistance in subjects among students of KSU “SOSH No. 3”, KSU “SOSH No. 4”, KSU “SOSH No. 8”, KSU “SOSH No. 23”, KSU “SOSH No. 28”, KSU “SOSH No. 29”, KSU “SOSH No. 40”, KSU “SOSH No. 1 named after N. G. Chernyshevsky” and “Gymnasium schools No. 37 named after N. G. Chernyshevsky”. Ybyraya Altynsarina ” volunteer work was carried out. The initiative was supported by the college’s methodologists, school teachers, and parents, coordinated with the city’s Department of Education, and planned according to the students ‘ school practice dates.
In the period from September to December of the 2020-2021 academic year, 66 students were engaged in volunteer work with 66 students, in the second half of the 2020-2021 academic year – 41 students-continue to work with students of 41 summer schools. The remaining 3-4-year students of the Department of Education of East Kazakhstan Region are assigned to the schools of the district, the village and the region in the framework of the project “Oku Kushtar mektep-oku Kushtar ult” for 2020-2025 and are engaged in volunteer work.
For example, college students Zhaksybayeva Aruzhan and Aitzhanova Mahabbat during a conversation with the parents of a student of class 4 “a” Amangeldinova Inkar, it turned out that due to the constant presence of the mother at work, the child can not pay enough attention to academic performance. Inkar found it difficult to do his homework on his own. The volunteers helped to complete the homework, explained topics that were not clear to the student, checked the homework and carried out the work. As a result, Inkar’s academic performance improved significantly. The work, accordingly, continues.
The student of the 3rd ” b ” class Zhumanova Aruzhan needed help in English and mathematics. The volunteer performed his work systematically. We managed the task together and gave feedback.
A student of the 2nd “A” class of Asulankyzy Asylai, divided into Beisengalieva Alina and Slatai Nurai, needed additional help in basic subjects, including Kazakh language and mathematics. The volunteers worked on communicating with the student. Volunteer work gives its positive results.
During the seminar, a student of the 42nd group, Madeniyatova Ayazhan, focused on her volunteer work.
“I, Madeniyatova Ayazhan Askharovna, conduct volunteer work in the educational direction as a student of the 4th grade of secondary school No. 4, Isabekova Aruna, who is brought up in a large family receiving an inclusive education. Since September 2020, this volunteer work has continued for the 2nd year. Due to the pandemic, the work with Aruna is currently being carried out through the vatsap. Communication with the parents was established. We visit the sights of our city to instill extra-curricular moral qualities and cultural heritage. For example, we visited the “biological center” and “Abay Museum”. Working with Aruna gives its results. The quality of Aruna’s knowledge increases, and a person is formed who is able to freely express his thoughts, close to creativity. The changes in her daughter’s life were noticed by her mother (Asel Nurkenova) and thanked the college.
The time to list each student’s volunteer work is limited, but every student who has worked in this area can defend their work in the same way as I do.
I don’t regret doing this volunteer work at all, I’m just happy. After all, thanks to my volunteer work, I honed my theoretical knowledge and gained a lot of experience.”
At the end of the seminar, Kantaeva Aizada Zhumakanovna, methodologist of the regional center “SHYGYS” of the NGO East Kazakhstan Region, spoke, noting that the work was put in the right direction and systematic work was carried out, and also thanked the head of the Department of Education of the city of Semey Fesenko N. A., the director of the pedagogical college named after M. O. Auezov Zhanaeva Sh.A., the students-volunteers of the college.
In the closing speeches, the Deputy Director for Educational Work M.Sh.Toktarbek and the Deputy Director for Practice K.A.Iskakova thanked the organizers of the seminar, school teachers, who gave a positive assessment of the volunteer work and wished success in their work.
